The line continues: introducing Octo Tre at 3daysofdesign

At this year's edition of 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, the Finnish lighting company Secto Design presents Octo Tre, the newest member of the Octo product line and the most compact interpretation of the pendant lamp designed by Seppo Koho.

The preview takes place under the festival's 2026 theme, Make This Moment Matter, which invites designers and visitors alike to consider a timely question: in a world of mass production and constant novelty, do we really need another design?

For Secto Design, thoughtful development begins with a genuine purpose. For years, the company has received requests for a more compact version of the Octo pendant lamp. Yet preserving the visual lightness, proportions and character of the original design at a smaller scale remained a challenge until advances in lighting technology made it possible.

Octo Tre brings the characteristic form of Octo and Octo Small to an even more condensed scale. Deﬁned by its gently rounded silhouette and airy wooden structure, the luminaire creates a distinct presence on its own, and particularly in compositions. Combined with the larger sizes or repeated in a series, it oﬀers new possibilities for creating rhythm, depth and atmosphere through light.

Like all Secto Design luminaires, Octo Tre is made in Finland by skilled craftspeople from locally sourced, certiﬁed birch. It will be available in autumn 2026.

During 3daysofdesign, Secto Design will exhibit together with fellow Finnish companies Nikari and Woodnotes in a shared showroom. While working across lighting, furniture and textiles respectively, the three brands are united by a commitment to responsible production, high-quality natural materials and products designed to endure beyond changing trends.

Together, they present a distinctly Finnish perspective on contemporary design—one that values longevity, craftsmanship and considered evolution over constant reinvention.
